Shipment tracking

To check the current status of your PARS, or the release status of your shipment, click the button below for our dedicated tracking page. This is provided by our software developer, Descartes. It will open in a new window on their website, so you may have to accept a risk statement your browser could generate, or allow a pop-up.

To check the status of your shipment, enter in your cargo control number or your pars number. If you only have a pro number or air waybill number, check below for common prefixes to find your shipment, or email pars@acaf.ca and we can provide you with a link you can click on to take you directly to your shipment.

Popular carriers, their tracking sites and prefixes

Some couriers / carriers have more than one carrier code. The carrier code is the first 4 digits of the cargo control number that goes into the shipment status tracker. Below are the more common carriers, their carrier codes and a link to their own tracking site so you can see where your cargo is.

Air Canada uses an Air Waybill (AWB) number. If you are using a freight forwarder, it may be referred to as a MAWB (Master Air Waybill). Their carrier code is 014- and is 8 numbers, so the cargo control number will be in the format of 014-12345678 (you must enter the dash)

Fedex tracking numbers are 12 digits, often shown as 3 blocks of 4 numbers. For air couriers, their carrier code is 400-, ground starts with 2314 and freight will start with 4713. Sometimes it is hard to discern which service a shipment is on, so check with us if you aren't sure. Note that Fedex screen is rather slow to update and a little obnoxious. If it shows as clearance delay all over their website, but customs released on our tracking, this is perfectly normal and ours is more accurate.

UPS uses a wide variety of reference numbers and carrier codes. Their "tracking number" will start with 1Z and their shipment ID is a jumble of letters and numbers. Neither of these have any bearing on the cargo control number, so best to call us to find out what we have been provided with.

DHL numbers can vary based on which service they are shipped on. For international air, use A1X-, ground freight is 8068. They also have a freight forwarding division named DHL Global Forwarding that uses a different numbering system.

KLM cargo control numbers begin with 074- followed by 8 numbers. You must enter the dash when tracking.

Hapag Lloyd's website uses container numbers or bill of lading numbers for tracking. Their carrier code is 9529 and this can be added as a prefix to their bill of lading number for our tracking. The bill of lading number is usually 3 letters, that denote the origin port, followed by 9 or 10 numbers.

Day & Ross carrier code prefix is 3809. They pickup goods from US terminals and haul them into Canada. Their US partner is R & L Carrier. If you have the R & L tracking number you can also use it on this website to track the Canadian portion more accurately.
